Lang Wins NASCAR Mini Stock Main
Monroe, WA (July 19, 2008): Kim Lang finished building the new car a
6:00pm and rushed to the track in
time to win her first NASCAR Whelen All American Series Mini-Stock main in over
three years at Evergreen Speedway. Rick Dietz
won the NASCAR Pawn Exchange Figure-Eight main. The NASCAR Stinger Eight Main
was won by point leader Mike Middleton. Rick Palmer made a late race pass to
win the SVR Hornet main. Finishing the night
in victory circle was the Crash-Car main winner Lance ‘Hammerhead’ O’Grain.
As she climbed from her winning car Lang was all smiles and
a few tears were mixed in. At one time she built a 9-second lead over point’s
leader Mark Weedin. Weedin brought out a late caution when he went off the
track in turn one. This had the field lined up behind Lang for the five lap
shoot out. Once again she was able to jump out to a comfortable lead on her way
to the win.
Dietz waited until the last lap last turn to make a pass on
Quinton Boreson to win the Super Figure Eight 35-lap main. Boreson led with
three laps to go when he closed on lapped traffic. This traffic slowed him
enough for Dietz to make the last turn heroics.
Following up last weeks win Mike Middleton strengthened his
point lead with a strong win in the Stinger Eight main.
