(Bothell, WA) Hello again faithful bloggers. It is the Thursday night before round three of the 2008 Mini Stock season! From what I can gather the largest field we have had in MANY years will be even larger this week! Many new cars will be out and one most definitely won't be!
During a practice session this Memorial Day, the #33 VW Scirocco of Kim and Clint Lang hit the wall on the front and rear just before the figure eight access road to the 3/8th. Angela Jennings who was slated to share the seat in the #33 with Kim had something go awry when the wreck occured. Some have told me it was one of the most violent and scarey crashes they have seen at the Speedway! Luckily, she was wearing a Hans device and she was driving one of the most well built cars on the track today! Everyone say thank you to Clint for building that car right! There was allot of love in that car as he sends his wife out to kick our... ah... rears regularly! Angela walked away, but I know how bad she feels after a hit like that!! Don't worry, the black and blue marks go away eventually.
Kim will be back on the track this weekend with a new VW Rabbit. They are all burning the midnight oil to "Get er done" Thanks to Chuck at Campbell/Nelson for the new Scirocco body. The only saveable pieces were the seat, the gauges, the motor and the roll cage. Make sure to give Kim an extra loud cheer when she comes onto the Speedway Saturday night!
The Red Rocket is about done, I parked it on the 11th and opened the garage door last night. Got her scaled, I get a new tire this week and that is always a good thing. As I type my old pal Chuck (I have to say that because he is coming to help me) is on his way with his welder. We had some contact last race and a mount was torn from the car, good thing I caught it before Saturday! I thought it felt a little weird!
So bloggers, the weather is supposed to be great and we know the competition will be fierce! The Speedways most popular class will be racing six times in the next eight races!!! We hope to see all of you out there!!!
