(Bothell, WA.) Hello once again faithful bloggers! Things are starting to heat up as round two of the 2008 race season comes this Saturday night! The tension is building! Who will win round two?
The Red Rocket is ready to go! My Balcos family has their gear ready for the big night and my newest supporters at Valley Gear & Transmission are eagerly awaiting the next race!
I Know Chuck is ready, he had his car over to the garage Sunday. Thanks for making me work on your stupid car on my birthday! I suppose you had fun on yours???? And just to clear the air bloggers, I didn't let him anywhere near my car. I figured that one out finally!
Mikey Fritz's car is ready, how do I know??? Because it was in the garage Saturday. Remember Mikey, biggest tire = RR. (inside racecar humor)
Practice is tomorrow night at the speedway. I know several cars will be out and several first timers in 2008 will be breaking in new cars! We only get so many tires per year, and we have to do our best to properly manage the tires we are allowed to make it till the end of the year. Because of this I don't go to these practices unless I absolutely have to! Can't wear out the tires. BUT!! I will be in the grandstands, stop watch in hand keeping an eye on everyone.
Have I told you about the Tech inspection process we go through??? Before every race, we have our cars weighed, there are specific weight rules, our engines can be checked to make sure we all remember the size of motor we built (people actually forget???) our tires are policed big time, mess with your tires and you are watching from the stands. I had to change my seat belts as tech deamed them to old! Always go with safety first! They poke us and prod us, sorta feels like a physical sometimes. Sometimes your stuff makes it through and sometimes it doesn't! We usually get a week to fix something if the tech people don't like what they see. No big deal, just keeping us to our own rules! Once in a while they will tell ya to go home and don't come back till you fix it! Can't really remember when that happened last? Hopefully this week when the 00 car goes through.
Seriously, we have a good bunch of people and we police ourselves allot, so nothing is to far from the line.
See ya all tomorrow night in the stands and then Saturday night, say hi if you see me wondering around "now where did I leave my car?"
