The Pawn X-change Super figure 8’s will take to the most dangerous intersection in the country for the last time in 2009, the racing always exciting and the action is intense. With a 64 point lead John Carlson will win his 3rd straight championship. The battle is going to be for 2nd, where Ricky “The Kid” Deitz holds only a 6 point lead over Shane Sawin. What kind of tricks are up Shane’s sleeve to gain that 2nd spot. These two have battled back and forth the entire season and it may come down to the final lap.
Seth Funden is looking to win his 1st championship in the Stinger 8 division. With a couple of weeks off, the Stingers are itching to get back on the track. Even with the championship already decided, Seth is looking for a trophy and will race hard like he always does.
The Cub Scout Hornets will crown their first ever season points championship. Chris Williamson has a 21 point lead over Rick Palmer. Can Chris hold on to take the crown? After last week’s 100 lap race with the Duvall Diesel Bonus the winner took home a cool grand. The racing was fun and challenging running 50 laps in the rain and 50 laps in the dry. These drivers in the 4 cylinder class showed the crowd they can drive the road course well.

The tightest battle of all the divisions at the speedway is in the Les Schwab Tire Street Stocks. Just 10 points separate the top three. Frank Cowgill holds a very slim 6 point lead over Darrel Lutovsky, who sits just 4 points ahead of Lane Sundholm. This one will come down to the wire. The battle has been tight all year for the top 2 spots between Cowgill and Lutovsky. But with 4 wins in the last 5 starts Sundholm has battled back from early season woes. Three different engine builders have been credited by the top three drivers. Cowgill has given credit to Action Machine, Lutovsky to Engine’s by Freddy and Sundholm to Bill Hunt Racing engines. These three will surely be running their racing machines for all they are worth to the checkered flag. This is one that won’t want to be missed.
